Release the Tension – Release the Pain

"Prepare for something a bit different!
Bowen is not the usual deep tissue work or vigorous treatment which leaves you battered and bruised and not sure if you really do feel much better! Bowen achieves great results at the point where the muscle is most connected .... and all of this is done without the need to remove your clothes!"

What Exactly is Bowen Therapy?

The Bowen technique involves a series carefully planned rolling manipulations designed to specifically target the sections of your fascia that are under tension. This is achieved through stimulating nerve and tissue pathways, relaxing the connective tissues between the brain, muscle and fascia.

Due to extremely specific nature of each manipulation and the gentle way in which it is applied, Bowen therapy can have you feeling the effect that very day!

As well as relief, some patients report feeling of temporary tiredness or fatigue which can last a day or two. Although not necessarily an indicator of effectiveness, this illustrates the way the body is targeted at the neurological level.

What Happens When I Come in?

Prior to your session, a thorough history taking and a full examination of the problem areas will take place. This allows the therapist to fully tailor the treatment to your body’s specific requirements.

Your session will then go ahead, carried out by our expert and fully insured Bowen practitioner Linda Brandon

Following your treatment, you can take as much time as you like to relax and rehydrate before leaving and continuing on with your day!

Who is Bowen For?

Bowen therapy is most commonly used to treat problems and injuries related to the musko-skeletal system. Although these issues are what we see most often, patients have also found relief from more systemic and neurological conditions as well.

The most common issues which we treat include;

  • Frozen shoulder
  • Neck stiffness and pain
  • Back pain
  • Hip and knee issues
  • Pulled and strained muscles
  • Joint pain
